Types of keyword in SEO

 There are three major types of Keywords in SEO

1 Short tail keywords: these are the phrases that are created with 1 or 2 words that are generic  in nature and search. Example: "Shoes" "Games" "Cars".When someone types  a short-tail keyword inside the search bar of a search engine ,it is not clear exactly what they want to search . Do the want to buy car or glance the specification of a car  or the color of a car.

Attaining the top spot on search engines results pages for a keyword so generic is quite difficult but not impossible. Its not advised to target the keyword  so generic because with this you can grab a big share of visitors searching the query but are they you potential customers  as they might not convert into business growth .

2 Long tail keyword: these are the keywords that are created with the use of 3 or more words that are query and services provided specific.Example:: "Game for pc" "Mouse with RGB lights" " Gaming cafe in Singapore". If someone types in a search bar of search engine a question of where they can buy something, you get details of what exactly they want to buy.

In comparison to short tail keyword , long tail keyword are easier to rank because they have lower organic competition.The number of times long tail keyword is searched is low but lead  conversion rates are high.

3 Phrase match : these must be present in search query in the same order as mention by you in your website. It is a keyword matching option where Google matches your ad only against the keywords that include a phrase you targeted  in your ads .
